Lou Nell Cupples, age 92, of Bolivar, passed from this life early Monday at Baptist-Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville.
The widow of Eddie L. Cupples, who died on March 5, 1989 after almost 45 years of marriage, she was a homemaker. She was born Sunday, September 2, 1928, in Mercer, daughter of the late William Manley Overton and Addie Florence Mullins Overton and lived in Warren, Michigan with her husband and daughter from 1954-1978 at which point they moved back here. She enjoyed quilting and working in her garden and cooking. Her family describes her as a loving caregiver, always willing to see to the needs of others above herself. The pride of her life were her grandchildren, who were everything to her, and she thought they were perfect in every way. Mrs. Cupples was Baptist in faith and a former member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Tammy and Russ Beatse of Collierville; and two grandchildren, Caroline Beatse of Chattanooga and Clayton Beatse of Memphis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Anna Crews Robinson, Sally Maude Overton and Mary Frances King; and 5 brothers, William Siler Overton, Jim Overton, Leroy Overton, Nathan Overton and M.E.
