She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and served Him throughout her life. She will long be remembered for her influence with the youth of the church and in her latter years, for her ministry to the senior adults. She retired from the church staff of First Baptist Church of Bolivar, TN where she served as the Educational Director, Church Hostess and Director of Senior Adult Ministry for a span of more than five decades. She was a gifted teacher and provided great leadership in the area of teacher training and church organization. She sang in the Sanctuary Choir and was a founding member of the Golden Sounds Choir. Ministry was an important part of her life, and through the years she, along with her husband, James, has visited hundreds of people in hospitals, retirement centers, nursing homes and funeral homes offering words of hope and encouragement to them in their time of need. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and was grateful to have the opportunity to travel to many places including France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany during her retirement years.
To Celebrate her life, we are asking any present or former choir members of the church to come together to sing for her funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
