Louise Harris Turnbow was born in Savannah, Tennessee on January 29, 1937, the daughter of the late Richard Clarence and Lessie Mae Harris. On June 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Homer Arlie Turnbow, who survives. Louise departed this life on December 16, 2017, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 17 days.
Louise was a member of New Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She worked at Hardin Medical Center until she retired. Louise lived in Hardin County all of her life. She enjoyed being with her church family, reading the Bible, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by her daughter, Sandra Bowen and husband Freddie of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Doug Turnbow and wife Teresa of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, L.C. Harris of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jeremy Bowen and wife Jana of Savannah, Tennessee, Tonia Bowen of Savannah, Tennessee, Molly Cherry and husband Shayne of Henderson, Tennessee, and Chris Turnbow of Dickson, Tennessee; step-grandchildren, Daniel Shirley and wife Mae of Statesboro, Georgia and Cody Shirley of Savannah, Tennessee; a great grandchild, Henry Bowen; and a step great grandchild, Jon Micheal Cherry.
Along with her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her sister, Lucy Stinnett Bobbs.
Services will be held on December 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at New Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee, with Carl Copeland, Chad Balentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery at Sardis, Tennessee.
