Lucy Diane Smith Boles, age 69, passed away Thursday morning at Henderson Health and Rehab.
She was born in Selmer, January 28, 1951, the daughter of the late Herman Kent and Edna Earl Wright Smith. She was raised in Finger, but attended high school in Nashville, TN graduating in 1969 from Cohn High School. She also attended Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Crump where she earned her LPN. She married Johnny Brown in 1972. He proceeded in death. In 1986 she married Ronnie Boles who also proceeds in death. She was an LPN all of her working career and she had worked at MTRC Correctional Facility in Nashville, Jackson Madison County General Hospital and also at Chester County Nursing Home. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and sewing. She was an animal lover, especially cats, dogs and farm animals. She loved kids especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Maggie Jones United Methodist Church at Finger.
She is survived by a daughter Susan Hemby and fiancée Jimmy Strickland of Henderson; a son Scott Ward and wife Sara of Jackson; her companion of over 20 years Jimmy Burns; two brothers Tom Smith of Seattle, WA and Charles Smith of Missouri; three sisters Margaret Stinnett of Memphis, Ann Keistler of Memphis, and Joy Dean Boyd of Arkansas and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister Marie Smith Lane Lockhart.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 1, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson's Crook Avenue Chapel with burial to follow at Maggie Jones Cemetery in Finger.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Monday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time.
