CASS TILLEY
Mr. M.C. (McCasland) (Cass) Tilley was born March 20, 1924 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late Robert E. Lee (Bob) and Fannie Linville Tilley.
He was united in marriage to Vellamay Highland Tilley on December 2, 1945.
He was a hard worker, retired, self employed and enjoyed working on tractors, cars and trucks, cutting and baling hay, gardening every year, cutting wood for winter, cutting timber, saw milling and welding.
He loved to talk to everyone and tell about what he did that particular day or earlier. He never met a stranger.
He loved his dogs (baby girl and Angel), cats (all named baby), and horse (Big Baby Girl)
He was a great and loving father, grandfather, and a great husband and caregiver for his wife, Vellamay, until her death on January 9, 2006 at home.
He was well liked by all who knew him and will be greatly missed in his community of Walnut Grove.
Mr. Tilley departed this life on April 15, 2015 at his home in the community of Walnut Grove, Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 91 years and 26 days. He is survived by a daughter Diane Parrish and husband David of Counce, Tennessee and a son, Larry Tilley in the community of Walnut Grove, Savannah, Tennessee; two brothers, Tom and wife Jewel Tilley of Collinwood, Tennessee, and Jim and Pat Tilley of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; four grandchildren; Terrence (Bubba) and wife Cressie Mooneyhan, Jason (Booger) and wife Ashley Mooneyhan, Charrity and husband Adam Alexander and Eddie Driskell and wife Lisa of Savannah, Tennessee and six great grandchildren, Mackenzie Mooneyhan, Jamison, Mollie, Hunter Mooneyhan, Katie Mae and Kolby Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tilley was preceded in death by a son, Junior B. Tilley; stepmother; Charrity (Sis) Tilley, brothers; William, James, Lemon, Robert, Jerry and Harris Tilley; sisters; Willie, Lillian, Jessie, Betty, Mattie, Martha, Peggy and Estelle; daughter in law, Mary (Betty) Tilley; grandchildren; Larry Michael Tilley and an unnamed baby boy; great granddaughter, Kylie Alexander.
