Maggie "Madge" Dillon Beck was born December 31, 1925 in Selmer, TN where she went through high school. She moved to Memphis and started working for National Biscuit Company. Madge eventually worked at Sears for many years in the credit department at the Crosstown location. She was united in marriage to Lafayett "Bill" H. Beck (retired FAA) on November 18, 1956 and started their family. They moved to Griffin, GA in November of 1963 where Madge became very active in her community. She attended an Episcopal church, volunteered for the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary and helped with Bill's Elks Club. They moved back to Collierville, TN in 1987. Madge acquired her TN real estate license and truly enjoyed working with her customers. She retired from Crye Leike. Her husband Bill passed away on March 31, 2012. She began living with her daughter Shelia and son-in-law Michael until she passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's on November 20, 2017 at the age of 91 Years, 10 Months, 20 Days.
She is survived by her children: Shelia Carden (Michael) of Germantown, TN, Jon H. Beck of Olive Branch, MS, Bryan Dillon Beck (Jackie) of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren: Jennifer L. Skelton and her children Gracie, Logan and Jacob, Joe L. Skelton III, Jason C. Skelton, Jaclyn Arthur (Thomas) and their son TJ, Andrew Beck, Delaney Beck, Jacob Beck and Jacquelin Parker.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Beck was preceded in death her parents, James Alexander Dillon and Callie Gay Dillon; a son, Joe L. Skelton, Jr; a grandson, Joshua M. Carden; four sisters and four brothers.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
