Madine Knight was born May 12, 1936 in Chester County, TN the daughter of the late Alton and Mazelle Hurst Riley. She was united in marriage to Eugene Knight on September 24, 1956. Mr. Knight preceded her in death on May 3, 2004.
Madine retired with 25 years of service as a Production Worker at Brown Shoe Company in Selmer. After retirement, she worked with her husband Eugene at Eugene Knight Sawmill where she was office manager and log scaler until they reired. She was a member of Selmer First Baptist Church and the Nancy Wyatt Sunday School Class. Madine was an avid collector of Red Fenton glass and enjoyed going to the mountains. She was a loving mother not only to her own family but to other families as well. She was known as "Grammy" to many. She departed this life on April 25, 2019 in Selmer at the age of 82 Years, 11 Months, 13 Days.
Mrs. Knight is survived by a daughter, Lisa Whitten and husband Jeff of Selmer, TN; two sons, Anthony E. Knight and wife Tammy and Tim Knight, both of Selmer; seven grandchildren, Valerie Knight, Jared Knight, Cody Knight (Caitlin), Jeffrey Hayes Whitten, Michael Whitten (Heather), Easton Knight (J.P. Glover), Corey Cagle; six great grandchildren, Logan Whitten, Jordan Whitten, Michael Brooks Whitten, Kimberly Whitten, Makayla Whitten, Chance Knight; a foster brother, Robert Wayne Moore, along with a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Le Ann Knight; a grandchild, Kirsten Knight; a sister, Cheri Phyllis Riley Payne; a brother, Bennett Riley.
