Marain J. Ray

April 25, 1940 — February 15, 2020

Marain Ray was born April 25, 1940 in Selmer, TN the daughter of the late Claude and Mildred Cox Russom. She was united in marriage to Butch Ray in February of 1968.

Mrs. Ray was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee and attended Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. She worked many years at Garan Manufacturing in the labeling department. She was a loving grandmother who adored watching and caring for grandson and great grandson. A collector of all things hummingbirds, she loved feeding and watching them gather around her feeders. She loved animals especially her Yorkie, Gracie.

Mrs. Ray departed this life on February 15, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 9 Months, 21 Days. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Butch Ray of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Tammie Ray of Selmer, TN; a grandson, Jacob Ray of Bartlett, TN; a great-grandson, Ridge Ray of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Russom.
