Margarette Brumbelow

Margarette Brumbelow, the widow of Roy Brumbelow, departed this life on Saturday afternoon, September 25, 2021 at her home in Middleton.

She was born Saturday, July 22, 1939, in Middleton, daughter of the late Earnest Scott Howell and Minnie Idell Sisco Howell and lived most of her life in Hardeman County except for 21 years as a Navy wife. She was retired from Hardeman County Bank with over 25 years of service and also worked in Civil Service for 5 years while in Florida. She knew Roy when she was 9 years old and he was 13. She walked up to him with a basketball and told him she was going to marry him. They married on April 7, 1956, and enjoyed 62 years together until his death in 2018. While Roy was in the US Navy, they moved all over the United States, and she was proud to be a Navy wife. They moved back to this area in 1978. Mrs. Brumbelow loved her family dearly and was a member of Middleton Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Brumbelow of Middleton and Tina Galli of Collierville; 3 grandchildren, Justin Holden of Middleton, Jennifer Flake (David) of Middleton and Johnna Harris (Eddie) of Collierville; 6 great grandchildren, Dalton, Halle, Tucker and Braxton Flake, Khloe Holden and Kylie Frost; a brother, Bill Howell (Doris) of Middleton; and a sister, Dean Pipkin (Ed) of Bartlett. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earnest Howell and 3 sisters, Louise Doyle, Georgie Smith and Sue Ryon.
