Mrs. Wooten, age 85, of Bolivar, passed away early Sunday morning, May 31, 2020, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was born Tuesday, October 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Walter Atlas and Jimmie Elizabeth Walton Williams. She was a 1952 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and on Saturday, October 17, 1953, she married Mr. Harlon Wesley Wooten. Mr. Wooten passed from this life on Friday, September 3, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Duncan Williams of Memphis (1989), a niece, Lori Paige Williams Lax of Bolivar (2011).
Known to many as "Nanny", she was a member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church and worked as a secretary at Harmon Automotive and Armira Corporation, both in Bolivar and on the family farm with her husband. After his death, she was employed by Wal-Mart for 10 years. She also worked for the Census Bureau.
She leaves two sons, Stephen Keith Wooten of Bolivar and David Trent Wooten of Dover, TN; one brother, Marvin Williams of Bolivar; four grandchildren, Paul Wesley, Evan West, Trent Williams and Ryan Hugh Wooten; three great-grandchildren, Gannon, Reed and Ross Wooten; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Williams; two nieces, Whitney Bevels and Emily Dunn; and three nephews, Gregg Breeden, Duncan Williams and Matt Williams.

* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
