MARIE PLUNK
Bethel Springs, TN: Minnie Marie Young Joyner Plunk age 87 passed away December 26, 2018 at Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
She was born July 23, 1931 in Finger, the daughter of the late Horry Young and Ethel McIntyre Young McIntyre. She went to school at Finger. She married Thomas Arley Joyner and they made their home in Memphis. Mr. Joyner died in 1959. She later married Marlie A. Plunk and they made their home at Finger. Mr. Plunk died in 1969. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Finger Fire Station on Tuesday nights. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and quilting. She attended Finger Baptist Church.
She was visiting her son in Jacksonville, FL when her death occurred.
Mrs. Plunk is survived by two sons, Sam Joyner and wife Madlin of Jacksonville, FL and Tommy Joyner and of Bethel Springs and a daughter, Ann Marie Baggett and husband Glendale of Bethel Springs; five grandchildren, Dalton Baggett, Brandon Baggett, Amanda Spencer and husband Morgan, Joseph Mills and Richard Mills and two great grandchildren, Dade Spencer and Calum Spencer; three sisters, Roberta Daniels of Ocala, FL, Louise Ross of Finger and Lila Kirk of Lebanon, TN.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James McIntyre and Charles Young and a sister, Lucy Snider.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with David Sims and John Talbott officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Finger.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
