Marilyn Land Easterling

Marilyn Land Easterling, age 71 of Middleton, departed this life Sunday, November 11th. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening, November 16 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar, and Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors' Middleton Chapel with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Middleton City Cemetery. Blain Dyess will officiate the services.

Marilyn Joyce was born April 22, 1947 in Memphis, TN to Ed and Mary Jo Nearn Land. She moved to Hardeman County in the late 70’s where she worked in the insurance industry. For 30 years, she faithfully served her community, as a Founder & Owner of the Old Line Insurance Agency in 1987, retiring from White & Associates/Old Line Agency in July 2017. Throughout her decades of service in the business community, Marilyn cherished her time serving in various leadership roles with multiple local civic and business clubs.

Marilyn was the widow of Larry Easterling. She leaves behind her loving brother, John Edward Land (wife, Cathy and daughters, Nora and Katie) of Olive Branch, MS, her son, Myles Russell of Corinth, MS, her stepson, Bo Hood (wife, Carry and daughters Korry and Piper) of Plainfield, IN, her daughter, Mary Helen Butler (husband, Mark and children Griffin and Josie), of Olive Branch, MS as well as her Aunt Joy and Cousin Angela Galloway of Bolivar, TN.

She enjoyed antiques, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Middleton.
