PAULINE RECORD
Surprise, AZ: Martha Pauline Record had recently celebrated her 89th birthday passed away from natural causes on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Banner Hospice in Sun City West, AZ. She moved in December of 2013 to Surprise, AZ to be close to her son, Raymond Melton.
She was born July 24, 1925 near Henderson, TN the daughter of the late Paul Jennings and Mattie Harrison Record. She was educated in the Henderson school system and graduated Chester County High School in 1942. She was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria, IL for nine years and was a supervisor for Salant & Salant Mfg. and retired from City Plate in Jackson, TN as a purchasing agent in 1992. She had made her home in Henderson all of her life with the exception of fifteen years in Pekin, IL. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
Pauline loved to travel and after her retirement she traveled all over the United States, Canada, Alaska, Nova Scotia and Hawaii. She also made several cruise trips in the Gulf.
Pauline is survived by a son, Raymond Melton and wife Carol of Surprise, AZ; a brother, Sonny Record and wife Peggy of Henderson; sister-in-law, Betty Record of Henderson; nephews, Dennis Record and Jimmy Record both of Henderson; nieces, Tammy Seaton of Franklin, TN and Tonya White of Henderson, TN, great nieces, Morgan Thomas and Kelsey Maness of Henderson and great nephews, J.R. Record, Jason Record and Colby Stout all of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Record (1969), Mattie Record (1993), a brother, Gene Record (1993) and an infant brother, Max Ray Record (1937).
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Ben Flatt officiating and burial will follow in Henderson City Cemetery, next to her brother, Max Ray Record.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 9:00 AM on Wednesday until service time.
