Marty Edward Gooch was born September 16, 1961 in Savannah, TN the son of Irma Richards Gooch and the late Vadis Gooch.

Throughout his life, Marty lived in Memphis, TN, Selmer, TN, and Iuka, MS.

Marty worked as a self-employed carpenter installing cabinets for residential as well as commercial clients. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years. He was proud to have served his country and always had a helping hand for veterans. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, fishing and his carpentry work.

Marty departed this life on May 7, 2018 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 56 Years, 7 Months, 21 Days. He is survived by his fiancee Margaret Chamberlain of Iuka, MS; a son, Patrick Dewayne Gooch and companion Margaret Wyatt of Millington, TN; his mother, Irma Richards Gooch of Selmer, TN; a brother, Roger Neal Gooch of Selmer, TN; two sisters, Marilyn Estes Underwood of Selmer, TN and Nancy Elizabeth Sherlin of Arlington, TN; two grandchildren, Haylie Gooch and Olivia Gooch; two nieces, Evan Elizabeth Sherlin and Margaret Lynn Bridges; a great-niece, Paige Vilcheck; a nephew, Brian Bridges; and special friends Stacey Chamberlain and son Ethan and Kenneth (Preacher) Richardson.
