Mrs. Brown passed from this life on Sunday morning, August 2, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Pete Sain and Mary Elizabeth Kelley Sain. The widow of Mr. George Brown, who died in 1990, she had worked for Madison/Haywood Developmental Services as a direct support provider and retired from Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar after 15 years of service.
She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Bolivar and, in her leisure time, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, most lately, either via Zoom or on the telephone. Mrs. Brown also was active doing field work for her church, gardening and raising flowers especially roses.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jones and her husband, Jasper and Sharon Brown, both of Bolivar; two brothers, Booker Sain of Bolivar and Forrest Sain and his wife, Joyce, of Jackson; four grandchildren, Marshall Brown and his wife, Chejuan, Corry Brown, Javon Brown and Janay Morrow; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Wayne and George Edward Brown and by six brothers.
When attending visitation or services for Mrs. Brown, please consider the following guidelines:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
