MARY RUTH KITCHEN MELTON
Henderson, TN: Mary Ruth Kitchen Melton age 89 passed away December 25, 2018 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 25, 1929 at Hooker’s Bend near Morris Chapel in Hardin County, the daughter of the late William Jess and Mazie Smith Kitchen. She went to school at Antioch and Saltillo. She was married to L. C. Melton in 1946 and they lived in Henderson. Mr. Melton was killed in the tornado in 1952. She had made her home on the Old Jackson Road since 1952. She enjoyed gardening and working outside. She loved her cats. She was Pentecostal in faith.
Mrs. Melton is survived by a sister-in-law, Wilma Sue Kitchen, a niece and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband a daughter, Helen Melton Raley in 2007; a sister, Beulah Kitchen and two brothers, Rev. Clarence Kitchen and W.C. Kitchen.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2018 at Chester County Memory Gardens with Bro. Kenneth Kitchen officiating.
The family will receive friends at Chester County Memory Gardens beginning at 10:30 AM on Friday.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home
