Matt Lewis, 54, of Saulsbury, passed away Wednesday evening, January 15, 2020 at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born Tuesday, September 14, 1965 in Charleston, SC to the late Robert Weldon Lewis and Brenda Ann Webster Lewis, who survives. He is also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Hulon C. and Bernice Agee Lewis; and maternal grandparents, Alva R. and Mada Teague Webster.
Mr. Lewis married Rose Ramos Glover on Sunday, August 4, 2002 and was a master jeweler having operated Lewis Jewelry in Bolivar for many years along with his father. He also was a knife maker and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church near Hickory Valley. A life-long resident of Hardeman County, he enjoyed knives, fishing, hunting, playing pool, talking on the telephone, storytelling and, most of all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of over 17 years, Rose Lewis of Saulsbury, he leaves children, Angelica (Bruce) Owens of Paragould, AR, Robert Jeffery (Ashley Nicole) Lewis of Corinth, MS, James Matthew (Charette) Lewis, also of Corinth, Justin Ryan (Kimberly) Lewis of Tiplersville, MS, Jonathan Burton Lewis of Bolivar and Michael Glover of Saulsbury; his mother, Brenda Ann Lewis of Saulsbury; and twelve grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Deena, Mekeaghan, Kadience, Jaxson, Allyson, Caitlyn, Aidan, Jazmine, Makayla and Phoenix.
