Our beloved Melva Kay Cruce, age 71, of Chatsworth, GA, went to glory, August 18, 2020. A memorial services will be Friday, August 21, 2020 at 4 pm in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Craig Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 pm until 4 pm. A graveside ceremony will be conducted, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2 pm at Memorial Gardens of Wayne County, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family.
Melva was born in Anniston, AL to John and Bessie Cruce on July 27, 1949. She never met a stranger and was loved by so many. To those who knew Melva, she was a friend, aunt, sister and listener. Melva loved children and helped raise most of us. Her caring attitude, infectious smile and huge heart will be sorely missed. Melva's generous attitude lives on in us.
Melva is preceded in death by her parents, John Rich and Bessie Lee Talley Cruce, brothers, Kenneth R. Cruce and John R. Cruce and nephew, William McClain.
Melva is survived by her brother, Allen Cruce, wife, Sandy; nieces and nephews, Trinny Freeman, husband, Jon, Mary Rochester, husband, Rodney, John Cruce, wife, Sarah, Greg Cruce, Kammie Cruce, Amanda Cruce, Allen Cruce, wife, Cynthia, Michael Cruce, Jessica Cruce, Elise Cruce; great-nieces and great-nephews, Cecelia Clem, husband, John, Brandon Freeman, Mitchell McClain, wife, Katie, Heather McClain, John White, wife, Rebecca, Michael White, fiance', Harlee, Hunter Cruce and Hailey Cruce and many great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
The family of Melva Cruce wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the awesome nurses and doctors at Advent Health Gordon Hospital, the amazing church family at Relationship Church and to the many friends who lent their support during this difficult time.
