Merle Hebert Little

MERLE LITTLE

Henderson, TN: Merle Prestyne Hebert Little, age 67, passed away November 2, 2017 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born August 4, 1950 in San Antonio, TX the daughter of the late Roy Preston and Alice Tundre Hebert. She graduated from South Central High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1968 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Growth Development from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. She married Bob Little December 15, 1979.

She served six years in the U.S. Army where she met and married Bob while they were stationed in Germany. They were then stationed at Fort Riley, TX while Bob was in Korea and she taught school in and around San Antonio. They were then stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado until Bob’s retirement and they moved to Henderson.

She worked for several home health care agencies and also at Chester County Nursing Home as an aide.

She was a very active member of the Plainview Church of Christ, having taught preschool bible classes. She was a very charitable person and enjoyed helping children.

Mrs. Little is survived by her husband, Robert Joe ‘Bob’ Little of Henderson; one brother, Roy Preston Hebert of San Antonio, TX and a sister, Justine Belair of San Antonio, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Elenor Doyle.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Andy Maness and Roy Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Estes Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday and Sunday 12 Noon until 2:00 PM.
