Mr. Michael E. Perry, 63, of Middleton, passed away Sunday night, June 30, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Memphis where he lived until moving to Hardeman County 15 years ago. He was the son of the late Gene Perry and Patricia Perry, who survives. Mr. Perry had worked for FedEx for 15 years and also for Lowe's.
A 1974 graduate of Wooddale High School in Memphis, Mr. Perry was an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. There, he was awarded The Vigil Honor which is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members for service to lodge, council, and Scouting. He also was a member of Middleton First Baptist Church.
Described by his family as a "workaholic", he enjoyed yard work, barbequing, fishing, college basketball, all types of board games and darts. Other interests included creating drawings with charcoal, talk radio, politics and antiques.
He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Cathy Miller of Middleton; daughter, Christina Dawn Goksel of Seymour Co., TN; son, Brandon Perry of Middleton; mother, Patricia Perry of Middleton; brother, David Perry of Memphis; and three grandchildren, Brett Ryan, Kailey Goksel and Alyssa Goksel.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Hazel Elvira and Berton Davis; and maternal great-grandmother, Ollie Martin.
