MICKEY RAY SADLER, SR.
Henderson, TN: Mickey Ray Sadler, Sr. age 79 passed away May 9, 2019 at the TN State Veterans Home at Humboldt, TN.
He was born February 1, 1940 in Jackson, TN the son of the late Jerry Linton and Laura Johns Sadler. He grew up in Bemis and attended South Side High School. He then joined the Army and married Bessie Bain in 1957. After his tour of duty they returned to Jackson where he worked for GM&O Railroad. He began working for the U.S. Border Patrol in 1967 and moved to San Diego, CA. He was later transferred to Memphis where he worked as an Immigration Investigator, retiring in 1989. He then began working with the U.S. Marshall’s service at the Federal Court House in Jackson.
He loved horses and being outside doing any kind of farm work. He had a great sense of humor and was well liked by everyone.
Mr. Sadler is survived by a daughter, Lawanda Joy Sadler Preece of Henderson and two sons, Mickey Ray Sadler, Jr. of Jackson and William Christopher Sadler of Yuma, TN; six grandchildren, Jacob Sadler, Autumn Porch, Scarlet Roberts, Paul Mitchell Preece, and Marcus C. Preece and Miranda Preece Rushing; seven great grandchildren; Micah Bowman, Bayne Porch, Barrett Porch, Ronan Rushing, Oliver Benjamin Mort, Charlie Preece and Alex Preece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bessie Fern Bain Sadler, a sister, Jerry Ann Cupples and two brothers, Richard Earl Sadler and Robert Sadler.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Friendship Cemetery with Dr. Elzie Danley officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
