Mrs. Mildred L. Graves, age 81 of Whiteville, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday, August 10, 2017 at NHC Somerville in Somerville, Tennessee.
A native of Fayette County, Mrs. Graves was born Saturday, April 4, 1936 to the late Clifford and Correna Inez Rogers Connor. On Saturday, February 28, 1953, she was united in marriage to Mr. Richard L. Graves, who survives.
She lived most of her life in Hardeman County and was the owner and operator of A&L Bargain House in Whiteville. She was raised and baptized at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and was a member of Whiteville First Baptist Church. She was a great wife and mother, and some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, working with flowers and cooking.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, Mrs. Graves is survived by four daughters, Diane Bradford of Cordova, Sherry Long of Whiteville, Cathy Graves of Horn Lake, Mississippi, and Janet Herron of Milan; three sons, Donnie Graves of Stanton, Glenn Graves of Hornsby, and Tim Graves of Whiteville; two sisters, Sue Stewart of Iuka, Mississippi, and Jamie Engelage of Arlington; eight grandchildren, Lee Graves, Josh Graves, Keri Beth Sayagh, Angie Hoffman, Lee Ann Rickman, Sarah Stringfellow, Kenneth Phillips and Richie Phillips; fourteen great-grandchildren, Seth McNabb, Hayden Graves, Walker Graves, Makayla Graves, Morgan Graves, Alisa Graves, Amir Sayagh, Alina Sayagh, Alai Sayagh, Summer Dawn Cagle, Skyla Puckett, Taylor Wallace, Kaylee Wallace and Addy Jo Lamberth; and one great-great-grandchild, Autumn Grace Cagle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
