MONTEZ GRANT
Henderson, TN: Montez Rozzell Grant age 94 passed away January 31, 2021 at her home.
She was born May 18, 1926 in Clinton, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Claude Walton and Eula B. Nichols Rozzell. She married James Thomas Grant, III in 1945. They made their home in Fulton, KY where they both worked for H.I.S. They moved to St. Louis where she worked in a dress shop. They moved to Henderson in 1988 where their family owned and operated The Sonic Drive until Mr. Grant retired in 2002.
She loved gardening, flowers and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed raising her children.
Mrs. Grant is survived by a son, Joe Grant (Sherry) of Covington; two daughters, Kathy Nichols (Nick) of Cedar Grove and Marilyn Dieckmeyer (Billy) of Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Gina of Huntingdon, TN; eight grandchildren, Beau Grant (Angela), Laura Anne Wallace (Lee), James Thomas Grant, V, Joshua Brent Grant, Tabatha Townlaine (Ted), Susie Pitts (Eddie), Brian William Dieckmeyer (Heather) and Andrew Michael Dieckmeyer; seven great grandchildren, Brennen Nichols (Kelsey), Jake Oliver (Tabatha), Kylar Peery, Jadin Peery, Amber Leimkuehler, Sara Beth Dieckmeyer, and Blake William Dieckmeyer, and five great-great grandchildren; Payton Nichols, Hadley Nichols, Beckett Nichols, Lilly Oliver, and Jensen Oliver, and a sister, Lawann Speight of Fulton, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, James Thomas Grant, IV in 2015; two brothers, Clyde Allen Rozzell and Estel B. Rozzell and a sister, Claudine Chedester.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 4th at Salem Cemetery in Fulgham, KY with Bro. Stan Smith officiating.
