Saltillo, TN: Moris Crum Johnson age 73 passed away March 16, 2020 at his home.
He was born April 21, 1946 in Okeechobee County, FL the son of the late Joe and Marie Albritton Johnson. After his mother died when he was two years old he lived with and was raised by his older sister, Lily Bell Carter and her husband Leroy and was like a brother to their children. He grew up in Fort Pierce, FL and moved to Saltillo in 2012. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL He enjoyed tinkering on mechanical objects, making crafts, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Johnson is survived by two nephews, Herbert Carter (Grace) of Sardis and Malcolm Carter (Becky) of Cullman, AL and three nieces, Linda Robinson of Saltillo, Tricia Lamb (Charles) of Cullman, AL and Debbie Carter of Saltillo and a sister, Dorothy Smith of Okeechobee, FL.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Lonzo Taylor, Frank Taylor, Bud Johnson, Joe Johnson and Billy Johnson and sisters, Hazel Tindal and Lily Bell Carter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Malcolm Carter, II. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main beginning at 12:00 Noon on Friday until service time.
