Morris Choate

Morris Choate departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at the age of 81 years and 3 months. He was born in Bakerville Community in Humphreys County, Tennessee on June 23, 1939, the son of the late Babe and Flora Mae Wyatt Choate. On July 24, 1963, he was united in marriage to Patsy Tidwell, who survives.

Morris was a member of the National Guard for six years. He was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union.

Along with his wife of 57 years, Patsy Choate of Savannah, Tennessee, Maurice is survived by his children, Phillip Mowdy, Tammy Bishop and her husband Greg, and Angie Lunsford and her husband Steve, all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Keith Mowdy, Michael Mowdy, Corey Jennings, Jacob Lunsford, and Andy Lunsford; and great grandchildren, Carly Jennings, Carson Jennings, Lincoln Lunsford, and Jack Lunsford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bryan P. Choate; brother, Harry Choate; sisters, Virginia Weatherspoon, Brinie Thrasher, and Ruby Braud.
