Naomi Ruth England Lax, age 95, passed away Thursday morning, January 17, 2019 at Bolivar General Hospital.
She was born on Friday, November 30, 1923 in Perry County, Tennessee to William Franklin England and Ella Ann Young England. She lived in Madison county until her marriage to Mr. Benjamin David Lax on Saturday, April 13, 1940. Mr. Lax died on Wednesday, August 3, 1988 after 48 years of marriage. For over twenty years, she worked as assistant to the manager of housekeeping at Western Mental Health Institute and was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Girl's Auxiliary. Mrs. Lax loved country music, playing dominoes, Memphis Tiger Basketball, watching game shows, and was famous for her chocolate pie and rolls. She a lady with a kind gentle spirit who loved her Lord and family.
Mrs. Lax is survived by seven grandchildren, Dennis Allen Lax, Jr. of Bolivar, TN, Michael Anthony Lax of Bolivar, TN, Christopher Michael Lax (Nina) of Southlake, TX, Joshua David Lax of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel Jason Lax (DeAnna) of Greenbrier, TN, Tanya Renee Lax of Greenfield, MA, and Benjamin Ryan Lax of Middleburg, TN; ten great-grandchildren, Blaine David Lax, Lathan Lax, Shelby Lax, Ella Lax, Eli Lax, Sophia Lax-Holmes, Henry Lax-Holmes, Alora Lax, Kate Lax, and Ben Lax; and six daughters-in-law, Elena, Faye, Jackie, Peggy, Lisa and Terry.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sons, David Franklin Lax, Dennis Alan Lax, Richard Michael Lax and Gary Stephen Lax; three sisters, Dorothy Sisco, Ruby Lee Tapley, and Sue Harris; and a brother, Cleo England.
