Neomia Cox Grantham, 92, of Hornsby, departed this life Friday morning, July 26, 2019 at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bolivar.
The widow of Arthur "Buster" Grantham, who died on February 8, 1985 after 37 years of marriage, she was a homemaker and would sit with the elderly and take care of them. She was born November 12, 1926 in Hornsby, daughter of the late James Luther Cox and Iva Lee Crawford Cox. She moved to Michigan for a short time and also lived in Memphis for a while, prior to moving back here. Mrs. Grantham enjoyed watching basketball, especially the Memphis Grizzlies, and keeping up with her 'soap operas', that's when she wasn't out shopping which was another activity she loved. She was a Baptist in faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Lawrence of Bolivar and Elaine Wilson (Robert) of Hornsby; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Laslie; two sisters, Inez Purser and Jettye Winfield; and two brothers, Curtis and Dalton Cox.
