Ocie (Pud) Poindexter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ocie (Pud) Poindexter was born February 25, 1942 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Hershel and Rachel Gray Poindexter. He was united in marriage to Imogene Berryman Poindexter on July 8, 1974. Ocie worked for Corinth Manufacturing for many years. In his younger days, Ocie enjoyed hunting. He always loved being outside gardening or working in his yard. He loved spending time with his family. Ocie departed this life on June 21, 2022 in Michie, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 3 Months, 27 Days. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Imogene (Berryman) Poindexter of Michie, TN; a daughter, Nickie Franks and husband Brian of Adamsville, TN; a son, Timmy Poindexter of Selmer, TN; eight grandchildren: Brooke Hatchell and husband Josh of Michie, TN, Toni Dickey and husband Josh of Ramer, TN, Samantha Pickens and husband Andy of Selmer, TN, Gracie Napier of Adamsville, TN, Karly Napier of Adamsville, TN, Taylor Poindexter of Michie, TN, Holly Rickman and husband Matt of Bethel Springs, TN, and Jessie Kiestler and husband Scotty of Bethel Springs, TN; eight great grandchildren: Lily, Ivey, Levi, Nora, Mia, Lila, Rachel, and Mason; two sisters, Edith Campbell and husband Gary and Barbara Whitten, all of Selmer, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Ocie was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Smith; a son, Jerry Poindexter; three sisters: Faye Farris, Wilma Ruth Whitten, and Juanita Poindexter; and a brother, Junior Poindexter. The family would like to say a special thank you to the hospice nurses and staff: Jenny Platt, Cassie Wilson, and Kat Heath. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Michie Church Of God of Prophecy with Chris Whitten and Brother Brian Rainey officiating. Burial will follow in the Michie Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clay Maxwell, Josh Dickey, Wade Nixon, Will Tom Sanders, Andy Pickens, and Gerald Franklin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Whitten, Josh Hatchell, and Edward Flatt.
