Opal Hunt Baxter was born on November 14, 1951 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Laden and Lillian Hunt.
On January 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to Steve Baxter, who survives.
Opal worked at Southwest Head Start for 16 years as a Family Case Manager.She enjoyed helping everyone in any way she could. Opal loved her grandchildren and always supported them in all of their activities.
Opal Hunt Baxter departed this life on August 6, 2021 in Olive Hill, Tennessee at the age of 69 years, 8 months, and 23 days.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Steve Baxter of Olive Hill, Tennessee; daughters, Andrea Gray of Savannah, Tennessee, Felicia Chase and her husband Jeremy of Savannah, Tennessee, and Alisha Brown and her husband Jimmy Mac of Clifton, Tennessee; sister, Bonnie Braswell of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jessica Briggs, TeJa Brewer, Dakota Franks, Cejae Brown, Gavin Brown, and Olivia Chase; and great grandchildren, Emma Bennett, Ella Brewer, Elizabeth Brewer, and Hailey Arnold.
In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Laden (L.C.) Hunt, Howard Odell Hunt, Hubert Sam Hunt, and Bobby Joe Hunt; and sisters, Myrtle Hunt Baxter, Bertha L.V. Hunt Harville, and Betty Sue Hunt Killough.
