Opal Jones Huggins was born August 6, 1927 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Bryan and Cynthia Wallace Jones.
She was united in marriage to Dwayne Mullins, who preceded her in death in February of 1961. To this union four children were born. She was later married to Grady Boatman, who preceded her in death in May of 1972. Her last marriage was to Wendall B. Huggins, who preceded her in death in October of 1998.
Mrs. Huggins was a graduate of Selmer High School, where she played basketball. She retired from McNairy County General Hospital as a PBX operator and Admissions Clerk, and was previously employed as a clerical worker for Brown Shoe Company. Mrs. Huggins was a former member of the Selmer FCE Club, the Retired Enlisted Association of American Veterans, The Air Force Memorial Foundation, The Commander's Club of the VFW, and was a charter member of the National Home Gardening Club. She received the Outstanding American Citizens Award for service to her community, and was a member of Selmer First Baptist Church. Mrs. Huggins loved people and enjoyed attending the many social events in which she participated, as well as tending her flower and vegetable gardens.
Mrs. Huggins departed this life on October 23, 2020 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 2 Months, 17 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Lila (Mullins) Pardue and husband Paul of Corinth, MS; two sons, Kenneth Mullins of Selmer, TN and Lee Dan Mullins of Lawrenceburg, IN; a step-son, Jerry Boatman and wife Sandra of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren: Kimberly Doucette Skelton and husband Marty Lane of Selmer, TN, Jennifer (Pardue) Tice of West Lafayette, IN, Paul Christopher Pardue and wife Heather of Stoddard, MO, and Bryce Richie of New Albany, MS; three step-grandchildren: Carrie Sharp and husband Mike of Selmer, TN, Brandon Boatman of Selmer, TN, and Amber Enzor and husband Jonathan of Adamsville, TN; eleven great-grandchildren: Brentley Tice, Kaitlyn Tice, Micaela Pardue, Caleb Pardue, Jaidyn Pardue, Andrew Thomas Doucette and wife Alyssa, Elizabeth Hope Doucette, Shelbi Elise Doucette, Reagan Sharp Matlock and husband Ty, Braxton Enzor, and Colton Enzor; four great-great-grandchildren: Brentley Cameron Doucette, Max Wallace Doucette, Landon Bryce Richie, and Jacob Connor Hall; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Huggins was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Gail Randall; a sister, Joyce Redmon; and two brothers, Malvern Jones and Garland Jones.
