Orland Cox, 81, of Silerton, departed this life Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born in Silerton on Sunday, June 29, 1941, son of the late Orland Tolstoy Cox, Sr. and Ethel Verness Siler Cox, and lived in Silerton all his life, except for 26 years that he served in the US Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1989. He married Patricia Wyatt on October 15, 1965, in Arkansas, and she preceded him in death on September 11, 2016. Mr. Cox enjoyed working in genealogy and was a member of Silerton Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Wayne Cox (Morrisa) of Jackson; and two nephews, Randy and Joey Gibson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Young and Nadine Gibson and a niece, Dianne Gibson. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Hardeman Adoptable Animals, PO Box 513, Bolivar, TN. 38008.
