Patricia L Maxedon was born September 29, 1931 the daughter of the late Irby Basinger and Rachel Bigger Basinger. She was united in marriage to Bert Arnold Maxedon, Sr. on Christmas morning in 1949. Mr. Maxedon preceded her in death one year to the day on January 30, 2017.
From that precious union of marriage, Patricia and Bert Arnold were blessed with three children; Bonnie, Danny, and Mac.
Mrs. Maxedon was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Selmer where she served as church Secretary for many years. She previously worked for Pickwick Electric Cooperative and with Bert in the family business, Maxedon Oil Company. Patricia and Bert raised their family in a very loving and Christian home instilling strong values such as hard work, always finish what you start, and do a job well done. She was a 1949 graduate of Selmer High School and a graduate of Draughon's Business College in Memphis.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Danny Maxedon and wife Rita of Counce, TN, Mac Maxedon and wife G.G. of Selmer, TN; a sister, Lola McCann of Bryan, TX; five grandchildren, Brian Harris and wife Angela, Brooke Maxedon Chambers and husband Blake, Chad Maxedon and wife Lindsay, BethAnn Maxedon Teague and husband Heath, Blake Maxedon and wife Shandal; eleven great grandchildren, Aidan Chambers, Reeder Chambers, Ben Chambers, Samuel Maxedon, Aubrey Maxedon, Caden Harris, Owen Teague, Quinn Teague, Carter Maxedon, Baker Maxedon, Lola Gene Maxedon; a brother-in-law, Don Maxedon and wife Linda; a sister-in-law, Marie Maxedon; a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Maxedon was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Maxedon Wiggins; a grandchild, Rachal Harris; her father- and mother-in-law, Burtron and Lilian Reeder Maxedon; a brother-in-law, Bobby McCann; a sister-in-law, Varina Newcomb; two brothers-in-law, Reeder Maxedon and P. J. Maxedon.
