Pauline Cornelius departed this life on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at the age of 97 years, 8 months, and 11 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 8, 1922, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Ivy Godwin Moffett. On October 19, 1940, she was united in marriage to James Cavie "J.C." Cornelius, who preceded her in death on March 7, 1979.
Pauline was a supervisor for Brown Shoe Company and had been with the company for over 30 years. After her retirement from Brown Shoe Company, she became the RSVP Director for Hardin County. Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church. While she was in school she loved to play basketball and was a star player. She enjoyed quilting, baking, and volunteer work. Pauline lived a full life, loved people and loved to dance.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Arnold and her husband Eddie of Pickwick Dam, Tennessee, Steve Cornelius and his wife Brenda, and Jamie Cornelius, all of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister, Laverne Davidson of Savannah, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
