Peggy McClearen was born December 18, 1931 in Selmer, TN the daughter of the late Grady and Lola Keith Clifton.
She was united in marriage to Hubert Floyd McClearen on May 7, 1950. Mr. McClearen preceded her in death on May 13, 1996.
For many years, Mrs. McClearen owned and operated Country Manor and the Depot. She sold out of the restaurant business and started her second career, real estate. She kept her real estate license current and had plans to continue. At the age of 88, she still had the drive to continue to work but her failing health would not allow. Hard work, honesty, and her welcoming smile made her a success in both of her careers.
She was known for her wonderful cooking, caring for her dog - Cookie, and her strong work ethic. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Selmer.
Mrs. McClearen departed this life on September 1, 2020 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 88 Years, 8 Months, 14 Days. She is survived by a son, Michael McClearen of Selmer, TN; a granddaughter, Hannah McLin and husband Randy of Savannah, TN; two nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McClearen was preceded in death by a sister, Loraine Robinson; a brother, Terry Clifton.
