Peggy Martin McCurry

Peggy Martin McCurry departed this life Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabiliations Center, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 2 Months, 1 Day. She was born May 30, 1936 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Luther Clarence and Lula Merriman Martin.

She married Jim Taylor McCurry, December 4, 1954 and he preceded her in death, October 19, 1978.

Mrs. McCurry, retired from Fisher Body in Livonia, Michigan, was a member of Waynesboro Church of Christ, chairman of board at Waynesboro Senior Citizens, served as Ombudsman many years at local nursing homes and was a member of ladies hospital auxilary.

Survivors, sons, Richard Lynn McCurry, Ypsilanti, MI, Clarence Randall "Randy" McCurry, girl-friend, Judy Stewart, Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Lisa Ann Wells, husband, Gary, Isabella Stewart and Amanda Hunsucker, husband, Mike; great-grandchildren, Taylor Leighann and Emily Claire Wells, Lexi and Lily Hunsucker; sister, Linda Gayle Martin, Waynesboro, TN.

Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Clarence Weldon "Pepper" Martin and an infant brother and sister.

Services will be Friday, August 3, 2018 at 3:30 PM at Shackelford Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Gregg Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 5 pm to 8:30 pm and Friday, August 3, 2018 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
