Virgil Powell Crocker, born December 21, 1951, in Savannah, Tennessee, lost his valiant fight with cancer on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the age of 65 years, 9 months, and 22 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar L. and Mary Ruth Crocker, a sister, Beverly Jo Crocker, and his beloved wife, June D. Crocker.
Powell is survived by: a son, Daniel Crocker of Memphis; a sister, Cathy Bomar (Jim), and niece Alisha Bomar, all of Savannah; and, a niece, Kim (Matt) Phillips of Adamsville.
After a career in commercial construction, Powell retired and returned to his hometown to sit on his porch, rock, and enjoy life. Instead, his retirement years were spent in caregiving and service to others. The many family members and friends that he befriended will surely miss him.
