Prentice Lee (Hopper) King was born November 26, 1941 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Rupert (R. B.) Benton and Ruby Lee Wooten King.
Mr. King graduated from Ramer High School, where he played center for the boy's basketball team that went to the Tennessee State Championship. He was employed as a meat cutter for approximately 40 years, working for Fred Montesi's Grocery in Memphis and the Kroger chain in Corinth and Savannah. Mr. King owned horses when he was younger, as well as a dog kennel; he also enjoyed fishing with a cane pole in his spare time. He was a member of the Antioch church of Christ.
Mr. King departed this life on October 29, 2020 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 11 Months, 3 Days. He is survived by five sons: Keith King and wife Cathy of Ramer, TN, Dennis L. King of Selmer, TN, Tony D. King of Corinth, MS, Michael B. King of Ramer, TN, and Ryan L. King of Ramer, TN; ten grandchildren: Josh King and wife Nina, Tyler King and companion Amanda, Justin King and wife Heather, Chelsea Bryan and husband Chase, Allison Jaggars and husband Brad, Bradley King, Matt King and wife Amanda, Mark King, Crystal Fullwood and husband Patrick, and Lacey Alexander; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Dot) Williams and husband Murray of Jackson, TN and Ester Riley and husband Tommy of Ramer, TN; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth King and Johnnie L. (Dale) King, and a great-grandchild.
