Preston King

Preston King of Selmer, TN was born December 25, 1934 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Lona Prince King and Luttie Mae Wolfe King. He was united in marriage to Lucille Kirk on June 3, 1956.

Mr. King was a member of New Bethel Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Treasurer. He retired from Brown Shoe Company Factory V in Selmer. After his retirement, he enjoyed logging, which he did for a number of years. Preston was a longtime delegate with the McNairy County Republican Party. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed his horses, slow-pitch softball, politics, and talking on the phone. Mr. King departed this life on February 6, 2019 in Corinth, MS at the age of 84 Years, 1 Month, 12 Days.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille King of Selmer, TN; two daughters, Wanda Crabb and husband Bobby of Selmer, Donna Montgomery and husband David, also of Selmer; a son, Tim King and wife Tammi of Bethel Springs, TN; six grandchildren, Chris Crabb, Chad Montgomery, Tiffany King, Stacey Volner, Tara Sanders, Teesha Hicks; 17 Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Cordie Taylor and husband Bill of Fairview, TN, Susie Lawson and husband Reed of Bartlett, TN; a brother, Bart King of Brentwood, TN along with a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Crabb, and a brother, Jimmy King.
