R. Harold Cox

R. Harold Cox was born November 22, 1942 in Ramer, TN the son of the late Raymond H. and Jewel Beatrice Kiestler Cox.

Mr. Cox worked as a Journeyman Mechanic, Local 798 Pipeline for over 25 years. He was chairman of the Mt. Gilead Cemetery Committee and very active over the years in maintaining the care of the cemetery.

He had a passion for geneology and spent over 20 years researching and publishing geneological information. He gathered information for all cemeteries in McNairy, Hardin and Hardeman counties. His published histories of cities, communities and towns contribute to our regions knowledge of its past.

Mr. Cox departed this life on December 2, 2017 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 75 Years, 10 Days. He is survived by a sister, Joyce Hickman and husband Roy of Bethel Springs, TN; three brothers, Ronald Cox of Bethel Springs, TN, Donald Cox and wife Kim of Henderson, TN, Kenneth Cox and wife Vickie of Jackson, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Johnson.
