Ralph M. Nixon, 74, of Jackson passed into Glory on Monday, May 23rd at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born in Millington, Tennessee, on December 5, 1947, to the late Ralph and Lucy Nixon and spent his childhood and school age years there.
After graduating in 1965 from Millington High School, he attended the University of Tennessee at Martin for 4 years. Since he knew he wanted a career in Pediatric Dentistry, he continued his education at the University of TN College of Dentistry in Memphis for another 6 years. After more than 40 years of practice and providing dental care for a multitude of children, it was obvious he chose the right path for his life’s work. His office was his “Happy Place.” His patients, his “joy!”
He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee and loved serving there in different capacities.
Ralph enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. There will be many wonderful stories told of outings and fellowship and great times. He left many memories to be shared.
He is survived by a son, Trhea Nixon and a daughter, Kacee Brantley (Chris), as well as his grandchildren, Weslee, Jozee, and Ben. He will always be affectionately known to them as Grananny.
He leaves a brother Bayne Dobbins and a sister Debbie Loft. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Butler and Pat Lea and a brother Jerry Dobbins.
