Rana Lynn Hardin

d. November 5, 2019

Rana Lynn Hardin of Savannah, Tennessee, went to be at home with her Lord on November 5, 2019. She was born at home in Savannah to Raymond and Faye Perry. If you asked her, she was 29 years old.

Rana began teaching Bible class as a teenager and never stopped. She was a longtime member of the Savannah church of Christ. She taught class, conducted Vacation Bible School, worked at service projects and church activities, took youth on mission trips, visited sick and shut-ins, and served God in whatever He asked. She believed the most important thing was to write the Word of God on your heart at an early age, and helped possibly thousands of children memorize Bible verses. She did too many things to mention them all.

She taught English grammar and literature, journalism, creative writing, chemistry, and French at Central High School from 1969 to 1975, at Camden High School from 1975 to 1977, and back at Central, then Hardin County High School, from 1988 until her retirement in 2015. As journalism teacher, she served as editor of Tiger Tales, the high school newspaper.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Perry and her sister, Gwen Taff. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Hardin; her mother, Faye Perry; her sister, Marta Pearsall; her children Josh and Vanessa Hardin, Ethan and Ashley Hardin, Perry and Alba Hardin, and Meredith Hardin; and grandchildren Ella, Ava, and Elijah Hardin, and Abigail and Benjamin Hardin. "Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all." Proverbs 31:29.
Memorial donations may be made to Savannah Church of Christ Missions Youth or Savannah Church of Christ Children's Ministry Budget.
