Mr. Langley died Friday at his home near Middleton, TN.
He was born March 16, 1951 in Ripley, TN to Robert Lee and Sylvia Kelly Langley, both of whom preceded him in death.
Mr. Langley was a 1969 graduate of Kingsbury High School in Memphis and for 29 years worked as a plumber for the Memphis City School System. He also was a boiler operator. On February 13, 1971, he was united in marriage to Janet Butler, who survives. The Langleys have lived in Hardeman County for the past 38 years.
In his leisure time, Mr. Langley enjoyed being a student of local Civil War history, old cars, music, gardening, landscaping and spending time with family. In years past, he had been an avid reader and throughout his life was a student of the Bible.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Janet Langley of Middleton; his son, Matthew Lee Langley and his wife, Jessie Leigh of Pocahontas; his five daughters, Lora Michelle Langley and her husband, Manny, of Nashville, Jessica Lynn Langley and her husband, Van, of Pocahontas, Lillie Marlene Langley Howell and her husband, Matt, of Middleton, Miranda Ruth Langley of Middleton; and Emily Rhea Tomlinson, and her husband, Cody, of Pocahontas; his brother, Keith Langley and his wife, Terri, of Eads, TN; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and an aunt, Genelle Hendren of Ripley, TN.
