Ray O. (Cully) Erwin departed this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at the age of 91 years, 4 months, 11 days.
He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 4, 1923, the son of the late William Ernest and Missy Kate Taylor Erwin.
Mr. Erwin served in the US Army during W.W.II. and he retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation, where he was a surveyor and bridge inspector. He was a member of the Lebanon Methodist Church and the V.F.W. He loved loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball, fishing, and hunting ducks and quail.
He is survived by a son, Max Erwin and wife, Ginger of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; daughter, Brenda Erwin Cunningham and husband, Bobby of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lacey Erwin and Will Erwin; sister, Kate Pickens of Crump, Tennessee; brothers, Fred Erwin of Adamsville, Tennessee and Ronald Erwin of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Marie Ratliff Erwin; sisters, Mary Evans, Dean Butler, and Belle Reynolds and one infant brother, James Henry Erwin.
