Rene worked as a truck driver and loved to crochet and garden.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, James Thurman and his wife Rebecca of Mt. Morris, Illinois; sisters, Brenda Henry of Savannah, Tennessee and Cricket Henry of Decker, Indiana; and grandchildren, Charlotte, Lila, Alden, Massey, and Frank.
Rene was preceded in death by her husband, William Marvin Thurman, and her grandparents, Beulah and Alfred Wright, Mattie Jane Henry, and Theodore Roosevelt Henry.
Rene worked as a truck driver and loved to crochet and garden.
