REV. CLARENCE KITCHEN
Henderson, TN: Clarence Kitchen age 89 passed away December 30, 2014 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born February 3, 1925 in Hooker’s Bend near Saltillo, the son of the late William Jess and Mary Elizabeth ‘Mazzie’ Smith Kitchen. He went to school at Saltillo and in 1951 he married Wilma Sue McCallum. They made their home in Henderson. He worked in the automobile industry and served as a Pentecostal Pastor for 62 years. He was a member of A New Beginning Church.
He had Pastored Beech Bluff Pentecostal Church for 25 years and Faith Assembly Pentecostal Church at Southside for 20 plus years and was recently serving at A New Beginning Church south of Henderson.
Bro. Kitchen taught love and forgiveness.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Sue McCollum Kitchen of Henderson; three sons, Paulus Ray Kitchen of Dickson, Kenneth Kitchen, Sr. and Jonathan Kitchen both of Henderson; a daughter, Janice Plunk of Henderson; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Ruth Melton of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, W.C. Kitchen and a sister, Beulah Mae Kitchen.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday January 1, 2015 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Don Cartwright and Bro. Ken Kitchen officiating and burial will follow in Roby Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM on Wednesday.
