Robert H. (Bob) Yeiser was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on October 19, 1931, the son of the late Carmen and Grady Yeiser, Sr. On August 16, 1975, he was united in marriage to Nina Jo Hill, who preceded him in death on February 13, 2017.
Bob graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1949. He attended University of Tennessee, Chatanooga in 1949 and Middle Tennessee State University in 1950. Bob served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force from March, 1951 until December 24, 1954. After his discharge he attended the University of Tennessee in 1955, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, before coming back to Savannah to help with the family business, Yeiser Oil Company. In 1964 after the death of his father, he took over the family business, and distributed gasoline for six counties and ten convenience stores until 1987. He then worked for Yeiser Plus Firestone and John Deere Dealership until 1997, when he began working for the State of Tennessee as a TriCor account representative. Most recently he worked under District Attorney Matt Stowe in the District Attorney's office of the 24th Judicial District.
He was known around the county as "Captain", and he was a member of the Hardin County Republican Party, where he served as Chairman from 2000-2004, and again from 2008-2012. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He departed this life on October 9, 2018 at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 20 days.
He is survived by: two daughters, Julianne Cole of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Ginna Wahoff of Edina, Minnesota; a brother, Grady Yeiser, Jr.of Savannah, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Lily, Jack, and William Wahoff; Caitlin and Allie Davis.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Yeiser, and a brother, William Donald Yeiser.
