RONALD BRUNET
Finger, TN: Ronald Paul Brunet age 69 passed away Saturday morning July 14, 2018 at his home.
He was born October 17, 1948 in Houma, LA the son of the late Leroy Gene and Theresa Ann Comeaux Brunet. He graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Stars, the RVN (Republic of Vietnam) Campaign Medal with Device, and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). He then served in the Naval Reserves in Long Beach, CA. He married Sharon McCrary on December 2, 1973. (They have been married almost forty-five years). At this time he worked for Nashua Printing Company. He later worked for Avery International Label Company in Monrovia, CA. In 1983 he returned to Houma where he worked as a Commercial Fisherman for a short time and then worked as a fitter/welder for Weeks Marine Dredging Company, retiring in 2014. They moved to Finger, TN in 2015.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to shoot pool and go fishing.
Mr. Brunet is survived by his wife, Sharon L. McCrary Brunet of Finger; three daughters, Barbara Ordoyne of Oliver Springs, TN, Kimberlina Silva (Johnny R. Silva, Sr.) of Gonzales, LA and Rhonda Detwiler of Finger; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one brother, Anthony Brunet (Jane Ellen) of Houma, LA; four sisters, Theresa Liner (Edward) of Houma, LA, Gail Bass of Pelham, GA, Amanda LeBouef (Don) of Bourg, LA and Darlene Grimes (Russell) of Houma, LA and two god-children, Melanie Cadiere and Christine Cherry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Jude Brunet, Wade Brunet, Roy James Brunet and Jerry Brunet and a brother-in-law, Robert Bass.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue. Burial will follow in Finger Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM Wednesday.
