Ronald Dean "Pappy" McMillen

Ronald Dean "Pappy" McMillen departed this life on Friday, March 27, 2020, at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 9 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on September 18, 1954, the son of James Edward and Gladys Haynes McMillen.

Ronald had worked at the Mug & Cone as a kid and then went on to trade school for drafting. He was a true artist and could draw a person from memory. He went to work as a towboat captain for Altar in St. Louis for many years before becoming a truck driver, he recently retired from Morgan Van Lines. He was a member of the American Legion and the Savannah Moose Lodge.

He was an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church when he was growing up where his father, James McMillen was a deacon at the time. Ronnie was not currently active in church due to his job, but believed in the Lord with all his heart. He loved his whole family very much and was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Bridgett McMillen of Corinth, Mississippi and Brandi McMillen of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Mitzi McMillen Currin and her husband Brandon of Parsons, Tennessee, and Autumn McMillen of Corinth, Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Brantley Mancell, Brelynn Mancell, and Emrys Currin, all of Parsons, Tennessee; a brother, Bill McMillen of Savannah, Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by the love of his life, Nancy Lee Brewington Davis; sister, Margaret McMillen Hopper; brothers, James McKinley McMillen and Robert Clifford McMillen; and nephews, James Wesley McMillen and Timothy Allen Hopper.

In response to Governor Lee's Executive Order 17 which took effect at 12:01 AM March 23, 2020, there will be no public visitations or services until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.
