Rosalia (Rose) Cruz Grimes

Rosalia Cruz Gimes of Sacramento, CA, formerly of Waynesboro, TN was born March 12, 1933 in Agana, Guam, the daughter of the late Jose Soriano Cruz and Josefa Benabte Pereda Cruz. Mrs. Grimes departed this life Sunday, January 11, 2015 at her home in Sacramento, California at the age of 81 Years, 9 Months, 30 Days. She was married to William James (Jim) Grimes, Sr. and he preceded her in death November 10, 2009. She was presently retired but had worked as a waitress, hostess, and as a homemaker providing a loving home for her husband and children. She was a member of Waynesboro Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Mildred J. Hanney and her husband Roger of Sacramento, CA, a son, William J. Grimes Jr. and his wife Sandra of Tamacula, CA, grandchildren, Leda Mendonca, Leah Grimes, Mason Douglas Grimes, Jessica Louise Grimes, and Jacob Thomas Grimes, and three great grandchildren, six brothers, Joe Cruz of Los Angeles, CA, Ernesto Cruz of Hilo, HI, Gus Cruz of Los Angeles, CA, Oscar Cruz of Hilo, HI, David Cruz of Springhill, FL, and Danny Cruz of Reno, NV. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Grimes was preceded in death by two brothers, Benco Cruz and Benny-Boy Cruz, and a sister, Fina Hernandez.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Bobby Pinckley officiating. Burial will follow in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Monday, January 26, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
