ROY VANN
Medon, TN: Roy Leon Vann age 75 passed away May 28, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born February 26, 1944 in the Westover Community of Madison County, the son of the late Clyde and Nancy Minton Vann. He attended school at Westover. He married Brenda Shumate in 1962. He worked for H. O. Forgy & Son Scrap Metal Company and had farmed most of his life. He stayed busy working and piddling in his shop in the back yard. He was a member of the Church of God.
Mr. Vann is survived by his wife, Brenda Carol Shumate Vann of Medon; three sons, Timmy Vann of Pinson, Kenny Vann of Medon and Terry Hardee of Parsons; two daughters, Tina Grooms of Jackson and Cindy Vann of Medon; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Vann and Terry Vann both of Jackson and five sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Enville, Ruthie Vann of Horn Lake, MS, Susie Horton of Atwood, Alice Vann of Malesus and Rhonda Vann of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Leon Vann, three brothers, Thomas, Billy and Danny Vann and three sisters, Linda Kay Thomas, Joyce Collins and Ann Vann.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2019 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with David Moore and Terry Acred officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue beginning at 11 AM on Friday until service time at 2 PM.
